Finally found a decent Kaiser roll west of the Hudson. Fried eggs on a roll with American cheese and grilled onions and tomatoes at Matt's Big Breakfast. Delicious!
Reason #18,349 to love San Francisco-- a big-screen showing of Darby O'Gill & the Little People at the Castro Theatre to commemorate St. Patrick's Day.
Location: a touch o' blarney, a heap o' magic, and a load o' laughter
My baby herb garden got to work while I was gone. Looks like oregano, thyme, mint, and chives are doing well. Cilantro and parsley need some more time in the greenhouse. They will all be graduating to larger pots this week.
Apparently I have the emotional maturity of a 12-year old boy, since I found it hysterical that the California Association of Whatever came up "California Ass" on my computer screen.
Long Beach is my favourite airport. Maybe because the one airstrip, 4 gates, and baggage carousel with lawn furniture always makes me think we accidentally landed in Cuba, or maybe it's the "Happy Coffee" (coffee, Bailey's, Kahlua, & Frangelico topped with whipped cream) at The Prop Room-- the one restaurant in the airport, or maybe it's that we exit the plane via stair car and wander into the building like the children of Israel. Yeah, it's the stair car.
I made a new friend this week. The best part was not just that I found a cassette tape in her car, but that said cassette is Diana Ross & The Supremes "Great Songs and Performances That Inspired the Motown 25th Anniversary Television Special." Quotes included. Aces!
So, this booth at my show had a giant blow-up T. Rex and a giant blow-up rhino... who somewhat deflated during the night. But to me, they just look like they fell asleep spooning.
My darling friend Keri got engaged yesterday, so this photo's for her. "Is that a sand castle?" My first experience with Miss Metje-- one of my all-time favourite stories from one of my all-time favourite girls. XOXOX
This one's for Ashley and Candice and anyone else who loves misused quotation marks as much as we do. My hand soap at the Hilton in Austin: "Thanks for being here."
Fondue night!!!! To dip: green apple, bartlett pear, new potatoes, broccoli, brussels sprouts, grape tomatoes, oil-cured moraccan olives, cornichons, and a made-today sourdough baguette. And of course, WINE.
